Repositioning how educators choose to engage with marginalized students is necessary. MENSCH provides a flexible roadmap for educators with the goal of avoiding deficit views based on elements of the capability approach, double consciousness, multiple consciousness, and Black feminism. Dr. Harris-Weedman conducted an exploratory qualitative study about the experiences of students of color at one traditional university pre, during, and following their time abroad.
