Risk management and participant risk mitigation is one of the most important topics for all institutions and levels of institutions to consider as part of their student mobility planning. Many offices that support student mobility programs consist of smaller teams that are responsible for overseeing a variety of factors. In our session, we will discuss how those who oversee these opportunities can use results-based management to mitigate operational and institutional risks inherent in this work.
Learning Objectives:
Upon attending this session participants will be able to support their institution in the considerations to assess their institutional ability to manage risk for participants of international opportunities.
Participants will learn from the presenters key elements to take back to their institutions to have engaging conversations about risk mitigation and management of study mobility programs.
Participants will learn about how a consortium of Canadian institutions collaborated to identify the collaborative needs of our institutions to help create an emphasis on keeping our students safe while abroad, preparing our institutions, and helping students understand and pre-pare for their experiences abroad through personal reflection and assessment.
