This poster session will provide an overview of a pilot global learning program built to address the needs of first-generation, PELL-eligible honors students. Multi-modal and multi-disciplinary learning, pre-departure prep, financial concerns, and more will be addressed. Participants will leave with a thorough understanding of this model, including successes, challenges, and potential future iterations, and be able to apply elements of the model to improve their own global learning initiatives.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will understand the model employed by an honors program at an MSI to address the critical issue of successfully engaging historically underrepresented populations, such as first-generation, PELL-eligible students, in global learning.
Upon completion, participants will be able to apply elements of a global learning model used by an honors program at an MSI to improve their own global learning initiatives.
