The purpose of this qualitative multi-case study was to understand how faculty members who led short-term study abroad programs across S.E.C. universities facilitated reflection among their students and how they themselves reflected and developed intercultural competence. This study may be used by institutions of higher education to enhance their faculty-led program development to include more intentional reflective practices to ultimately enhance student cultural competence.

Audience will gain an understanding of what reflection practices are currently employed by faculty and staff at SEC universities on faculty led study abroad programs.
Audience will learn of practices that they may implement or influence an iteration of reflection practices that they may implement at their respective institutions.
